Overseer Sam Masigo is based at the Cape Town Cathedral and leads Grace Bible Church (GBC)’s Region 8 in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape (Port Elizabeth), which is part of the global GBC (Antioch) in Pimville, Gauteng under the Senior Leadership of Presiding Bishop Mosa and Overseer Gege Sono.
He received Jesus Christ at a tender age of seven in Children’s Church.
While at tertiary pursuing accounting studies, his heart was pulled towards ministry, and he completed his three years ministerial training at His People Bible School.
He was ordained into ministry on 24 April 2005 by the Presiding Bishop of GBC, Bishop Mosa Sono, and thereafter he served in Pimville.
Later he was appointed as a Supportive Pastor to the Moletsane branch and on 28 April 2013 he was commissioned to lead the Cape Town branch.
He was consecrated an Overseer on 6 April 2019.
He acquired training in, among others, Trauma Debriefing Counselling from Families South Africa (FAMSA) and Counselling Skills for Substance Abuse from the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA). He is a registered counsellor with the Council for Counsellors in South Africa.
In addition, he completed an Advance Certificate in Project Management from the then Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) [currently known as the University of Johannesburg].
He is involved in a supportive role with the University of Cape Town Student Christian Fellowship (SCF).
By the grace of God, he serves as part of the full-time staff at Grace Bible Church and has served in various department and roles. These include School Ministry, Counselling, Projects, Stewardship, Cell Groups, Line Crossers Fellowship (LCF) Committee (men’s fellowship), Jesus Overcoming Through You (JOY) Committee (singles’ fellowship), Children’s Church and …Unlimited (youth ministry).
Overseer Sam has been a member of the IFCC since 2005.
